A lazy Sunday at the market.

Without a doubt, one of my favourite things about living in Bath is the vintage and antique market that takes place at Green Park Station on the last Sunday or every month. Not only is it a treasure trove of beautiful vintage clothes (today I picked up a polka dot midi skirt for £10!), but with an array of stalls jammed with home ware and curio, you never know what you're going to discover. I could spend so much money on quirky odds and ends for the flat, however I'm not sure Grant would appreciate it if I came home with bags of old toys, tins and children's books. Our shelves are getting cluttered enough as it is!

My friend Georgie and I began our afternoon with a pot of tea and slabs of amazing carrot cake from Boston Tea Party, before making our way over to the market. Our first stop was the clothes rails, where I um-ed and ah-ed over a polka dot pyjama style blouse and a couple of dresses before eventually deciding on the skirt that made it home with me. We then wound our way through the various stalls, peering at vintage dolls, antique tea sets and gorgeous millinery. I resent that it only pops up once a month, but I suppose it makes it that bit more charming when it does come around.

The skirt I bought is a few sizes too big, however it shouldn't be too tricky to take in at the waist. I'm sure it'll be appearing in an outfit post sometime over the next week!

  18. I love carrot cake and that one looks delicious! I absolutely love vintage fairs and markets, but I have been neglecting this tye of shopping of late in favour of high street shops - bad me! I also don't think there are that many fairs up in Manchester, well there are but they are infrequent and they require a bit of hunting out! You have inspired me to take a day trip down to Bath on the last Sunday of the month though definitely!!!

  20. My sister has been making the best carrot cake lately. And I've been getting as big as a house eating it (although the family of 6 devours it pretty quickly with or without my input). Wow, loving all those telephones. I actually think I passed through Bath once when I lived in Ireland and travelled around the UK, but that was when I was 12. I just remember a really great pub with good mushy peas. Haha :D
